It's because class conflict is much less acute in america. People really have no concept of antagonisms between classes in this country. I think for that reason they are much more likely to peaceful and bend over for the cops.

Yea Iv seen that quite a bit - I find US footage under names like ''Anarchist riot'' ect but when I look at them its a bunch of collage students sitting in the middle of a road playing conga drums - when things get ugly the protesters lye down on the road and refuse to move ''holding up traffic'' - this is usually the peak of the ''riot''.
Its weird about class because Europe is much more egalitarian than the US - You'd think it would be the opposite. Maybe its all the corporate propaganda in the US - which exists in Europe too but isn't anywhere near as bad. Even CNN smacks of propaganda compared to news stations over here, and in America its considered one of the ''neutral'' stations. |

That probably has something to do with it. But i also think it has to do with the fact that they have achieved so much through solidarity and struggle against the system. Since they fought, the government gave way a bit. And since it works, they continue to do it. I think they've gotten into a good habit. Whereas, here, we just hope and pray that our votes will make some sort of difference.

The people with "scarfs" (bandannas) around their face are mostly Anarchists, some autonomists and less state socialists. Those who start police fights and THEN refuse to remove the bandannas to the protesters are the agents trying to induce riots. We do tests for people defending themselves.
It's not just you. I was just going to say Americans are all bunch of pussies but that would definitely be wrong. Generation after generation has heard the propaganda that movements must be peaceful in order to succeed when in reality, it is the ones that use force that succeed. This propaganda is repeated even amongst protesters and activists themselves after accepting it as fact.
